Introduction

A few of you remember the last two attempts I made at this Tutorial Series, by Lightwave Artist and Author: Dan Ablan.  I'm not going to rehash those renders, or experiences.  I will say that this is the third time I have gone through this Tutorial Series.  Creating 3D Art is something that you really want to keep up with, like any other skill.  It's been probably closing in on 2 years since I made anything in Lightwave, or any other application of it's kind.  In that time, I've lost much of the basic "operating" knowledge of the application: hotkeys, shortcuts, menu options, etc.

I am a budding (forever beginner, it seems at times) independent game artist.  I also fancy the occasional "high poly" work; both for potential commercial purposes, as well as personal projects.  Lots of ideas, and little time to see them come to life; but all things will come about....eventually.  I chose Lightwave 3D, in part because of the price-point; but also because of the robust and friendly Community.  Admittedly, Lightwave isn't used in game development that much at all (used in the older Serious Sam, and the newest Doom); however, I'd like to attempt to find a pipeline (perhaps using Blender as a "bridge" application) into the Unity engine.

At any rate; I'll be showing my progress to anyone who wants to take a peek, now and then.  I've taken a whole week off from my "day job" to work mainly on this Series; I hope you enjoy my results.  Feel free to leave a comment, or critique.
